It is often said that " summer is hot in Kyoto ," and my hometown, Saitama City, is also famous for being a hot city, ranking high in the national maximum temperature rankings. Before coming here, I thought "I'm used to the heat in Saitama, so it'll be fine," but it is indeed hot. Is it because of the season? Is it because of the humidity? It's a sweltering heat. It is in this climate that my solo exhibition in Kyoto began.
The window display for this Kyoto solo exhibition was a little simpler. The main focus was on large, impactful book-shaped display frames, and there were fewer rolling books than usual.

The neat and tidy design also helped attract more visitors. If I were in your situation and came across a display like this on the way home, I wouldn't be able to help but stare at it.
Once you enter the exhibition, you are immersed in my world. To enhance the sense of immersion, I have created more book-shaped frames for this exhibition and lined them up in a row.
I have had many customers visit my store through social media . The reactions of people who saw my work for the first time include, "It's much more beautiful in person than on my phone (computer) screen," "It's smaller than I thought, and the details are really small," "It's sparkly and beautiful," "I've never seen anything like this before," and so on. As a creator, I feel a little embarrassed when I hear these wonderful reactions.
I wasn't able to talk to everyone, but I think that the customers who came to the store were satisfied. My works are expensive to buy on the first visit, and they are unique techniques/genres, so it takes a little time for customers to understand them. However, once you see the real thing, you will recognize that it is unique art, and I think it will stick somewhere in your brain.
Once again, I would like to trace the meaning/significance of the solo exhibition. There is an online store, and many people are viewing it on SNS , so what is the meaning/significance of holding a solo exhibition with such attention to detail? It is "I want people to enjoy it," "I want them to know what I want and what I am aiming for," and "I want to talk to the people who come," and "I want to see their surprised faces and their reactions of enjoying it." I think there are some people who live far away or have difficulty going out. I also want to be an artist who is close to such people. In order to ensure that it is not a privilege only for those who came to the solo exhibition, I would like to honestly tell you about the atmosphere of the solo exhibition venue and what the solo exhibition was like on my blog, so that customers who purchase from the online store will feel as if they are shopping at a solo exhibition.
My next solo exhibition in Kyoto will be in March of next year. I am savoring the joy of having a solo exhibition at this wonderful "Art Gallery Kitano," and I would like to prepare thoroughly again. Some people come in between work, some incur travel expenses to come from far away, and some make the effort to come despite physical difficulties... Everyone takes their precious time to come. In order to respond to their feelings, I will do everything I can to present a wonderful exhibition next time. Please look forward to it.
Kyoto Solo Exhibition September 2023 Thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who read this blog to the end.
