#22-Tokyo202406 End

Event period: 2024 June 4th (Tue) - June 9th (Sun)

Location: Nine Gallery (Gaienmae)

This is my third solo exhibition at Nine Gallery. Until the last time, there was a large construction project going on in front of the gallery, but it has now been completed and the gallery has regained its spacious and lovely atmosphere in a quiet residential area.

We have stopped using the large B0-sized tapestries that we have used as eye-catchers until now, and have instead created a neater layout that allows a clear view of the inside, just like our previous solo exhibition.

The large windows are a feature of Nine Gallery. When viewed from the outside, they create an unnatural feeling as if the inside of the gallery is a different space. The books of all sizes are reminiscent of picture books, biographies, picture books, etc. This is an important approach to my work.

This time, we increased the distance between each piece from 10 to 15 cm, allowing visitors to spend time looking at each piece. Visitors were able to stop for a while in front of their favorite pieces.

I placed large books on a table display near the entrance. It was designed to resemble an archaeologist's laboratory or study. In addition to glass works, I also exhibited and sold silver works that I had made about 25 years ago.

This was my first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2024. Before every solo exhibition, I get anxious and stressed out. But when it started, I had a blast and everyone who came seemed to enjoy it. I checked in my heart and in my head that this was the best I could do.

Because I create my works with great care, each and every connection is stronger, and I have a wonderful time interacting with customers. I will prepare wonderfully for the next one as well. Please look forward to it. Thank you very much to everyone who came and watched.
