The theme of this exhibition is "propulsion." The beautiful force that connects plants and animals to the next generation. Always take one step forward... This message is expressed in glass.

We've been in the midst of such turbulent years that it's hard to remember any peaceful days. Back then, wearing a mask in the summer was unthinkable, and I don't think I even measured my happiness.
Over the past few years, I have been thinking about many things while working as an artist. I have wondered whether art is necessary, something that is not generally considered a necessity in life, and whether I will be able to continue doing the same work in my own life in the next few decades. However, for better or worse, it seems that this is the extent of my talent, and I have been able to face glass every day, encouraged by the slight reactions that my work is encouraging and healing someone, somewhere.
For the past two years, we have refrained from going out for non-essential reasons. Our body, mind, and brain have become accustomed to that rhythm. Perhaps as a result, I have become reluctant to do anything, but how about you? Unfortunately, I have more time than before, so there are a mountain of things I have been putting off, saying, "I'll do it later" or "When things have calmed down." There is a saying in Italy or somewhere that the god of opportunity only has bangs, so if you pass by even a little, you can't catch him - but it feels like the god of opportunity is no longer even on my path.
I've digressed, but essentially I have produced many works that aim to clear away those feelings of ennui and stagnation in my mind - works that have the theme of momentum.
The sight of animals living purely, risking everything to survive, the beautiful mechanisms that plants use to connect to the next generation - flowers and seeds. No matter how stagnant we may be, time passes by moment by moment, and natural scenery that allows us to feel this - clouds and the sea. The magnificent history of things that have overcome many obstacles to get to where we are today - dinosaurs and fossils.
We have prepared many gentle works that will give you a little encouragement or soothe your small pain just by watching them.
The summer Bunkamura solo exhibition, which has been held for over 10 years, will be on hiatus for a while ( scheduled to be closed for an extended period from April 2023) , so please come and visit even if it has been a while since your last visit.
We understand that some of you may be unable to come due to distance, or may find it difficult for various reasons. We will be releasing new works on our website and social media from time to time, so please take a look.
