[Constellation – Centaurus –]
During a feast with the Centaurs, the hero Hercules drives away drunken attackers with poisoned arrows. During the feast, he kills his archery teacher Chiron. The kind-hearted centaur Pharos, who tries to save him, also dies. The gods honored these two as the constellations Sagittarius (Chiron) and Centaur (Pharos), respectively.

Technique: A centaur is depicted in detail on midnight blue glass. The constellation is arranged in gold and embedded in the glass. The carefully cut and polished shape refracts the light that enters it, causing it to sparkle inside the glass.
