[Bottlenose dolphins – Communicating –]
Bottlenose dolphins are thought to communicate through body movements and sounds. They can make a variety of sounds using six air sacs near their blowholes. Each dolphin has its own "name" (sound) and can express itself to others. They communicate using about 30 different sounds.
