Dogs appeared in Japan during the Jomon period and are called Jomon dogs. Jomon dogs were used as hunting dogs (for hunting birds such as pheasants and pheasants, and small animals such as rabbits), and many have been excavated after being buried with great care. Modern Japanese dogs have inherited the characteristics of the Jomon dogs, and are loyal to their owners, intelligent, brave, and alert.
