Snow is formed when water vapor, which is a gas, turns solid directly without going through the liquid stage (sublimation and condensation). It takes on various shapes depending on the temperature and humidity at the time it solidifies. In other words, the shape of the crystal changes depending on the conditions at the time, and no two crystals are exactly the same.
